About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the payments, such as electricity, rates, licences, permits, leases, and subscriptions, ensuring all transactions are accurate and on-time. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, handle general ledger reconciliations, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Key responsibilities include:
Process cartage payments, with high accuracy and within tight timeframes.
Monitor, track, and follow up on invoices not received, such as licence renewals or subscriptions.
Maintain a detailed accounts payable schedule to ensure no deadlines are missed.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to address payment-related queries.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a transportation-related role.
Highly organised with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and proactively follow up on outstanding invoices.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency in accounting platforms, with experience in Oracle Financials highly desirable.
Strong time-management and communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in Excel.
